ACCEPTABLE USE

Acceptable Use & Anti-Robocall Policy

Business Phone HQ is for legitimate business communications—not unlawful robocalling, spoofing, fraud, harassment, or high-volume abuse.

Last updated: August 19, 2026Applies to all customers, users, numbers, calling features, integrations, and automated workflows
Zero tolerance for illegal robocalling and deceptive caller ID.

Business Phone HQ may block traffic, suspend calling, quarantine a number, require proof of consent, or terminate service when activity presents a material fraud, robocall, spoofing, carrier, reputation, or regulatory risk.

1. Lawful use only

You may use Business Phone HQ only for lawful business communications. You are responsible for the content, recipients, timing, calling purpose, consent, caller ID, and workflows you initiate through your account.

2. Prohibited calling practices

You may not use Business Phone HQ to initiate, facilitate, or disguise:

  • Unlawful robocalls, prerecorded calls, artificial-voice calls, AI-generated voice calls, or autodialed calls.
  • Telemarketing calls where prior express written consent is required but has not been obtained.
  • Calls to numbers on applicable federal, state, or company-specific do-not-call lists when the call is prohibited.
  • Calls made outside legally permitted calling hours or after consent has been revoked.
  • Caller-ID spoofing or manipulation intended to defraud, cause harm, mislead, impersonate another person or business, or wrongfully obtain anything of value.
  • Phishing, impersonation, tech-support scams, debt-relief scams, government impersonation, prize/sweepstakes scams, deceptive lead generation, or other fraudulent schemes.
  • Harassment, threats, stalking, hate-based abuse, repeated unwanted calling, or calls intended to disrupt another person or business.
  • Traffic pumping, toll fraud, artificial traffic generation, short-duration call abuse, number-reputation evasion, or attempts to bypass carrier/fraud controls.
  • Calling emergency lines, hospitals, public-safety answering points, or other protected lines in a manner prohibited by law.
  • Using multiple numbers, accounts, identities, or routing patterns to evade blocks, consent rules, provider controls, or enforcement.

3. Consent and do-not-call records

If your calling activity requires consent, you must maintain reliable records showing who consented, what they agreed to receive, the telephone number covered, the date/time and method of consent, and the business on whose behalf calls are made. You must honor revocation and opt-out requests promptly and within all applicable legal deadlines.

For telemarketing, you are responsible for required National Do Not Call Registry access, state do-not-call requirements, company-specific suppression lists, written procedures, employee training, and recordkeeping.

4. Artificial or prerecorded voice

Use of prerecorded or artificial voice—including synthetic or AI-generated voice—does not eliminate consent, identification, opt-out, or calling-hour requirements. Where an automated opt-out mechanism or identification message is required by law, you are responsible for ensuring it is present and functioning before campaign traffic begins.

5. Caller ID

You may present only caller ID that you are authorized to use. You may not knowingly transmit misleading or inaccurate caller identification information with intent to defraud, cause harm, or wrongfully obtain anything of value. Telemarketing traffic must comply with applicable caller-identification requirements.

6. Business Phone HQ is not a bulk-dialing safe harbor

The availability of a technical calling feature does not mean a particular call is lawful. Business Phone HQ is primarily designed for business call handling, routing, receptionist, callback, and connected workflow use. High-volume or campaign use may require additional review, provider approval, registration, consent evidence, traffic-shaping controls, or may be prohibited entirely.

7. Monitoring and enforcement

To protect the network and comply with provider or legal obligations, Business Phone HQ may review traffic metadata, complaint patterns, call rates, answer ratios, destinations, carrier feedback, fraud signals, and account configuration. We may request documentation, temporarily restrict calling, block destinations, suspend numbers, terminate accounts, or preserve information for investigation.

8. Reporting abuse

Report suspected unlawful use to support@businessphonehq.com with the subject line Abuse / Robocall Report. Include the calling number, called number if known, date/time, and a short description. Do not send passwords or full payment credentials.

9. Regulatory references

Key federal rules include the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and FCC rules at 47 C.F.R. § 64.1200, as well as caller-ID requirements including 47 C.F.R. § 64.1604. Other federal and state laws may also apply.
